Lichfield Municipal Charities was established in 1654 and is now regulated by a Charity Commission Scheme which was sealed on 24th September 1982, as effected by a Resolution dated 26th November 2013. The Charity is an unincorporated association. The Charity does not actively fundraise and seeks to continue its philanthropic work through the careful stewardship of its existing resources.
Lichfield Municipal Charities comprises thirteen Almshouses known as William Lunn’s Homes situated in Stowe Street, Lichfield, which are available for occupation by poor inhabitants of the City of Lichfield.
Lichfield Municipal Charities is also dedicated to assisting individuals and organisations within the boundaries of the City of Lichfield who qualify for assistance under the terms of its Governing Document.
